Our 55th!!! |
|
What a wonderful time - and the weather cooperated - not too hot and not too cold. We had 99 classmates return. This plus guests gave us a total of 168. We had 451 donors to our reunion fund, giving us a total donation of $2,884,643 - a great accomplishment! Our festivities began with a reception and buffet dinner in our Headquarters Tent outside Mews Hall. We were welcomed with an "islands" theme, complete with flowered shirts that ended up being the envy of other classes. |

On Friday and Saturday, a huge number of options were available for classmates to enjoy. Our class began with our traditional milk punch party at 10 a.m. Friday, which is a great way to start any weekend. The rest of the day classmates attended College receptions, all-alumni Barton Hall lunch, viewed booths, displays and representatives from each of the colleges at Barton, went to workshops, lectures, discussions, and more. Friday night was our islands-theme dinner, complete with a steel band playing island music and a trivia contest (to be graded by our Reunion Chairs, with winners announced the next day.) The day ended with some of our hardier members enjoying the Glee Club concert at Barton and a sing-a-long back at the dorm. |

| ...it was decided at our 2009 class meeting that a Class Council was no longer needed. | |

On Saturday, our class held its meeting and election of officers as part of our luncheon (Duffield Hall, below). President Skorton joined us for lunch, and accepted one of our shirts as a souvenir. Saturday afternoon was the State of the University address. Note the rows of red shirts in the picture below. We're getting closer and closer to the front row! |
